Adds your Digital Whale (Growth Desk) chat to your website. Paste your chat code and you are done.

== Description ==

Digital Whale Chat puts your Growth Desk Conversation Bot in the corner of every page of your site, so visitors can ask questions and leave their details at any time.

* One setting: your chat code.
* Turn the chat on or off without removing the plugin.
* No code to paste, no theme files to edit.
* The chat loads after your page, so it does not slow your site down.

The chat itself is served by Digital Whale (https://api.digitalwhale.io). Your visitors' browsers load it from there; the plugin never sends data anywhere itself and does no tracking.

== Installation ==

Downloaded from Growth Desk (Business profile → Install chat)? Your copy already has your chat code: upload it, activate it, and the chat is on. Nothing else to do.

Downloaded from digitalwhale.io instead:

1. In WordPress go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose `digital-whale-chat.zip`, click Install Now, then Activate.
2. Go to Settings → Digital Whale Chat.
3. Paste your chat code and click Save.
4. Open your website: the chat button appears in the bottom corner.

= Where do I find my chat code? =

In Growth Desk open Business profile → Install chat and click Copy code. Paste the whole line into the plugin; it keeps only your Business ID (the `data-tenant` value, for example `aquafix-plumbing`). Typing just the Business ID works too.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= I saved my chat code but I don't see the chat =

Make sure "Show the chat" is ticked. If you use a caching or speed plugin, clear its cache, then reload your site. The chat does not appear inside the WordPress dashboard, only on your public site.

= I already pasted the chat code into my theme. Do I need this plugin? =

No, but it does no harm: the chat still shows only once. You can remove the code you pasted to keep your theme tidy.

= How do I change the chat's colours, greeting or questions? =

In Growth Desk. Changes there show up on your site automatically; nothing to change in WordPress.

= How do I turn the chat off for a while? =

Settings → Digital Whale Chat, untick "Show the chat", Save.

= What is "Advanced: API address"? =

Leave it as it is unless Digital Whale support asks you to change it.

= What happens when I delete the plugin? =

The chat disappears from your site and the plugin's settings are removed from your database.
